Overview:
The definition of minimum wage is the minimum amount of money that the companies have to pay their employees is $7.25 per hour. This is not a lot of money per year especially if you are working part time. This is however the reality, but what can be done to improve this?
The reality
The reality is that minimum wage is all around us. When you go to your favorite restaurant. There could be a worker earning minimum wage. When you go to the movies a worker there could be earning minimum wage. In fact basically wherever you go you will be surrounded by minimum wage.
Should minimum wage be raised?
Yes, minimum wage was first started so workers could earn good money relative to how much and how long they work. However the minimum wage has not increased alongside inflation. Which means that workers are not earning enough to stay with inflation.
Outro
Minimum wage is not right for the workers that work many hard hours. Minimum wage should be raised accordingly so that these workers don’t fall behind because of inflation. The small minimum wage is not right and should be increased accordingly.
